Colour Wash

A colour wash for walls is a decorative painting technique that has an antique finish instead of an even, uniform look, it creates a subtle, textured, and aged appearance reminiscent of old buildings and cottages. by applying a thin, translucent layer of paint (or a glaze) over a base coat, resulting in a soft, watercolour-like effect.

The colour wash technique can create a variety of looks, from a subtle, aged appearance to a bolder, more textured look, depending on the colours, brushstrokes, and techniques used. Depending on the material it's created with, can also be referred to as Limewash.
